We had some fun on yesterday's live stream and celebrated St. Patrick's Day.
I tasted some green Irish beer and tasted some Aero pepermint chocolate which resembled Leprechaun heinie :)
I also gave away two coins - a 1937 American Mercury dime, and a 1910 Canadian large cent.
Join me every Sunday morning for Coffee With Liz. Hangout with like minded peeps from all over the world and win some cool coins :)

Live Stream: Off The Cuff Metal Detecting Hangout
We had a great show last night.
I tried some "extremely hot" cheetos and sipped some Crown Royal.
We received some phone calls from viewers and showed some wicked photos on the "show & tell" segment.
As always, we gave away some stickers and a coin.
Did you miss the stream? You can always watch the replay, however join us live one day.
"Off The Cuff" is seen live on Thursday at 7:30pm eastern and "Coffee With Liz" goes live every Sunday morning at 10:00am eastern.
See you next time :)

MONDAY MEME
It's Monday, and that means time for a meme.
How many of us have pulled the "one hour" routine?
It's never an hour - more like a minimum of 6.
That's about it. If you haven't seen my latest video where I read viewer comments, please give it a view.

NEW METAL DETECTOR 😀
I have added a new metal detector to my arsenal. Say hello to the WHITES MX5.
The MX5 is a versatile detector that can be used almost anywhere - with both a general purpose Coin mode and a Beach mode that allows ground tracking even in wet salt sand.
Here are some highlights according to Big Boys Hobbies:

This unit retails for $719 plus tax in Canada. However I purchased it for a phenomenal price from an estate sale. It was never been used, and apart from the original box that is missing - it is complete. It came with 8 Duracell rechargeable batteries. I use the same batteries in my Garrett AT Pro and have found them to long lasting between charges.
I have not had the opportunity to swing this detector yet and am looking forward to the first hunt of the spring. No doubt that between the MX5 and the AT Pro, I should be able to thoroughly search most sites.

THURSDAY: What is This ???
It's Thursday, and that means WHAT IS THIS ?
I was not sure of what I had when I unearthed this. So much so that I placed it in my pouch where I usually put the bottle caps and junk. After the dig, we all gathered for our customary "look what I found" round table. It was then that I learned exactly what it was.

This is a HEEL PLATE.
Miriam Webster describes it as: a metal plate (as one designed to protect against wear) for the heel of a shoe. In days gone by, people would have them nailed to the soles of their shoes to extend the wear.
This one was a little folded when I found it and the holes were filled with soil - perhaps why I didn't recognize it right away.
Here are some pictures of vintage heal plates. Some people call them toe taps.
Remember to hold on to your 'unidentified' items.
Get a second opinion before throwing them out.
That's it for today. Until tomorrow.

TUESDAY: Tip / Gear Day
YouTube TIP
Today's tip comes from the DETECTORISTA.
He has come up with a great way to film your dig. I'm calling it the "Shovel Cam". I have seen a lot of videos where a camera is secured to the shaft of a metal detector. I don't know about you, but after a couple of swings I tend to get a little dizzy watching. This is a welcome idea.
Check out the DETECTORISTA's channel: Detectorista!
If you have a tip that you would like me to share, let me know !!!!!
Likewise, if you have found some new gear and think it's amazing, let me know !!!!!
That's about it for today. Until tomorrow, KEEP IT REAL.
